We are excited to be back at Cape Cod Community College for a second year! The College staff has been wonderful to work with, and in addition, the College has many initiatives that support collaboration and innovation, making it a perfect host for this event. Thank you to CCCC for helping to make this event possible. We want to also thank the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation for a second year of support for this community event.
Thank you so much to the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod for a second year of support. The AFCC is the regional arts agency for Barnstable County, committed to strengthening and promoting Cape Cod’s arts and cultural industry throughout the year. We attended the grant reception at the Cape Cod Media Center in Dennisport in November, and were amazed by the range of projects covered. You can visit their website to stay informed about the latest in arts and cultural events on Cape Cod. You can subscribe to their e-newsletter, become a volunteer, and find a new play, concert or exhibit to attend. There are opportunities to donate or become a member of this excellent organization.
We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Cape Cod Five, who is also supporting us for the second year. Cape Cod Five is a tremendous force for good in the community, strengthening the social and economic well-being of the community that it serves. The Bank generously supports events and activities in the areas of arts and culture, conservation and environment, health and elder services, youth and education, and human need and economic development. They also have generously funded a program of educational mini-grants for teachers. We are truly grateful for the support of Cape Cod Five.
This was the first year that we applied for a grant from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council, and we were so happy to learn that they have supported the Maker Faire! The Mid-Cape Cultural Council is a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The MCC promotes and supports the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences to benefit people in the towns of Barnstable and Yarmouth. They support programs that build awareness of local heritage, natural resources, and the arts including field trips, public art, festivals and concerts. They also received a special honor last year in that they were named the 2014 Council of the Year by the Massachusetts Cultural Council! We appreciate their support!
Last, but not least, the Cape Cod Technology Council has been a wonderful advocate of Cape Cod Makers and the Maker Faire. Council President Paula Hersey and her team work tirelessly to promote many activities and programs related to technology and innovation on Cape Cod. Become a member to meet other people in the technology community and to become involved in the issues that affect the Cape.
Please consider supporting these organizations and the good work that they do on Cape Cod!
