This year’s Cape Cod Mini Maker Faire has so many new and fun things, including ukulele music!   We’re very happy to welcome Steve Gregory and his Ukulele Orchestra, who will be entertaining us with some decidedly non-Hawaiian tunes such as “With A Little Help from My Friends,” “Proud Mary,” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

The ukulele is easy-to-learn and affordable, so it’s a great instrument to get started on at any age, even if you have no musical experience.     It is also a very sociable instrument–playing ukulele is a great way to meet people, get together, play and sing songs.   So how can you learn to play?  Steve teaches ukulele at his music studio in Sandwich, and he also teaches introductory and intermediate ukulele classes at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.     And the folks who take his classes are some of the nicest, friendliest, and most welcoming people that you’ll ever meet!

Here’s a great video of the Ukulele Orchestra playing “Love Shack” at last fall’s Ukulele Fest.

This will be so much fun!

You can catch Steve Gregory and his Ukulele Orchestra at some upcoming events at the West Falmouth Library on 5/1 at 4:00 p.m. and the Spring on Main Festival in Hyannis on 5/14 at 1:30 p.m. on the Village Green.
