Cape Cod MakerRobot-Beach-Party-Logo-Smalls will be hosting its annual Robotics Competition at the 2017 Cape Cod Mini Maker Faire. This competition is designed to be accessible to people new to robotics, yet open-ended enough to allow experienced robotics developers a chance to show off their capabilities. Anyone is invited to participate with competitors broken into four leagues: Open League, Experienced Student League, Novice Student League, and Autonomous Robotics League. Any team may register for Open League while the Student Leagues are reserved for teams composed of students grades K-12. Any student team that does not participate in a national robotics competition may elect to join the Novice league. The Autonomous Robotics league is open to any robot that operates without human control/intervention. The competition format is a time-limited treasure hunt. Each team will have 5 minutes to navigate an obstacle course, collecting and returning as many score cubes to the starting zone as possible. The team that collects the most score cubes during its 5 minutes will be announced the winner for its league. Additional awards will be given for the most innovative/unexpected design, best repurposing of found parts, best use of autonomous design, and best aesthetics.

We are also thrilled to have the Cape & Islands Workforce Investment Board‘s support by offering a one-time grant to purchase supplies for the following partner schools who decide to participate in the competition.
